Drop a Hint, Tip, or Review for 219 West
I thought it was wonderful. If you want good food and cheap drink you got it, if u want more upscale stuff you can get that too. I know it gets packed but its because its really good. I like to go for happy hour and get a martini (its lasts the whole meal =D )and dinner, the best combo for like 10 bux. If u are a guy just get 2 appetizers or order from the main menu (over 3 years ago)
The happy hour specials at this place are off the hook. The drink specials are great, and the half price appetizers are even better. You definitely need to try the Caprese Burgers if you go. One of the great places in Austin to start off a night. If you plan it right, you could just walk to 4th or 6th and start your weekend off right. (almost 4 years ago)
we come here only for happy hour, the food and drinks are great. the menu is divided into 6 different sections which suggest different food/drink combinations (The Beer Menu, The Martini Menu, The Scotch Menu, The Mint Julep Menu, The Wine Menu, and The Tequila Menu). the staff is really nice and prompt, even when the place is slammed (as it often is during hapy hour). 219 West is one of those downtown Austin gems. The food and drinks are both really high quality, you won't be disappointed. The atmosphere is a tiny bit trendy, but don't let that stop you - I've seen plenty of people in there not dressed to impress (but be reasonable - it's not a dive). Going during happy hour is the best deal - half off most drinks and tapas. The mini burgers are awesome, and there is a lot of variety in the menu. This place is great whether you're treating it as a full blown restaurant, or just getting your bar-hopping night started here. (almost 4 years ago)
